What to Expect on Your Fishing Charters RI
|
A charter fishing trip is about you having fun and Fishing Charters RI is the tailored choice to address both the novice and experienced angler. When chartering a Rhode Island fishing trip with Captain John Sheriff, he will inquire as to your level of experience and expectations to assure you an exciting and safe trip.
Our charters and vessel can comfortably accommodate up to 5 anglers and is equipped with all regulated safety gear and head. Depending on the level of your experience and the type of charter you prefer, there is typically a mate aboard. This is for your safety in addition to keeping your party baited and rigged at all times.
When fishing Rhode Island for Striped Bass and Bluefish, (the most common charter) Captain Sheriff’s charters are prepared to utilize the numerous techniques effective for catching either of these game fish.
While many charter captains focus specifically on trolling and jigging with wire line for Striped Bass and Bluefish, Captain Sheriff will only utilize this technique if it is the most productive option at the time as it can be tiresome for the angler and it only allows for 2 anglers to fish at a time.
The common approach we find our clients prefer is for all anglers fishing at the same time. This is accomplished by vertical jigging over deep structure, casting lures on light spinning tackle and or live bait.
In addition, Captain Sheriff’s Fishing Charters is prepared to fish for other species If the activity is not present for our target species or if there is a need to wait for conditions to change such as the tide.
Our vessel, FISH ON II, 32 Seacraft equipped with twin 300 HP Mercury Verado outboards provides a comfortable cruising speed of 35-40 knots. This allows us to get to our destination in approximately one half to one third the time of many other fishing charter vessels. This all equates to more fishing time and value for your money! Fish On II provides the fastest ride to the fishing grounds and back in the Galilee fleet.
We recommended that you bring a lunch, beverage and rain gear.
No hard liquor or drugs on board!
Anglers are responsible for not breaking or loosing the fishing equipment overboard! The inshore light tackle and trolling rods average approximately $300.00 each. The angler or group leader will be expected to provide payment prior to disembarking the vessel.
(Please no black soled footwear.) The Captain will fillet the clients fish, so bring along a cooler and ice to preserve your fillets for the trip home.
