Captain Sheriff and quests fished The North Rip area of Block Island on Monday, Memorial Day. Weather and sea conditions were great for a productive day of fishing. The afternoon proved to be the more productive time of the day for catching Striped Bass. The strong tidal rip created a feeding frenzy since the bait was congregated in that area for the active bass and bluefish. The bass and bluefish are feeding heavily on sand eels. Topwater, plastics and umbrella rigs were very productive. Captain Sheriff's party limited out on keepers easily with many fish released as well.
