On Friday, May 27, Capt. Sheriff and 2 quests fished the upper part Narragansett Bay in search of Striped Bass. Within 2 miles of the boat dock, sea gulls were sitting on the water. Knowing that this typically means there was action recently, I decided to shut the boat down and look for signs of surface activity. I verified with there was also large amounts of bait below us as well. Within seconds, I noticed surface action from bass gorging on silversides just as they have been doing in the previous few days. We threw jerk baits and deadly dick's at the bass which were very finicky that day. We did manage to catch our 3 limits of bass to 34 inches that day. Action got better throughout the day up to dark.
