Capt. Sheriff and 2 guests fished Block Island primarily for Seabass today since Striped Bass fishing has been slow lately. Apparently, Capt. Sheriff did not get the memo from the Striped Bass that they planned to invade the Southwest area of Block Island today. With only a dozen live eels on board due to the current short supply, one angler fished for Striped Bass while the other anglers fished for Seabass. By the end of the day, 20 Striped bass were caught that averaged 30 lbs. We were fortunate to catch several bass on the same eel at times. Other charter boat clients were in shock as they watched us releasing 30 lb Bass throughout the day as they went by our vessel.. A truly world class day of Striped Bass fishing at Block Island with excellent sea conditions.
