Spring is here in Rhode Island and that means Striped Bass Fishing will be Red Hot very soon.
Captain Sheriffs Fishing Charters RI has been getting tackle prepared all winter in preparation for our Rhode Island Striped Bass Fishing Charters. Our fishing charter preparation includes the purchase of light tackle spin casting equipment such as quantum 40 series reels spooled with 30 lb braid line. In addition, other tackle includes YoZuri plugs, diamond jigs, shad and pogey plastic imitations and more.
In May and June, Rhode Island waters will experience the run of school sized Striped Bass as they migrate their way North. This is a great time to potentially get some great top water action for Striped Bass fishing on our light tackle fishing charters. Our Custom built 32 Seacraft center console with twin 300 HP Mercury outboards is the perfect solution as a light tackle fishing charter platform to target Rhode Island and Block Island Striped Bass. With the current and recent possession regulations on Rhode Island Striped Bass, this time of the year is best if you are hoping to possess and or take fish fillets home for those 28-31 inch keeper size fish. For additional great light tackle fishing in Spring, Bluefish will come into the mix as well. In later month of June, the bigger and or trophy size Striped Bass show up which must be released. Fishing techniques differ for these big Block Island Striped Bass although our hopes are to catch some keeper size fish as well this time of the year.
In any case, it’s great to get out fishing whether you can keep or just release these great fighting Striped Bass. The potential to catch Fluke, Scup and even Tautog are also targeted on our for Rhode Island Fishing Charters in the Spring as well.
We hope to see you soon at Captain Sheriff’s Fishing Charters and a special thank you to our valued customers who have helped us attain Trip Advisors Travelers Choice Award every year consecutively since 2021-2025.
